I’ve been hearing about this a few times on TV and on news coverage about how a palimpsest manuscript of 174 pages had been rediscovered recently which contained a scribe’s copy of some of the original works of the legendary Archimedes which had been overwritten with religious texts. Matthias Schulz gives a good account of what the manuscript is and how it ended up being purchased by a billionaire to attempt to recover the lost information stored on it using advanced X-ray techniques.
