Have to see - my Japanese isn't crash hot so maybe take me a while to get around it. It's a lot less flexible from what I can see from FaceBook with less plug ins but the usual music/video/photos stuff is up there with a feed on what's being discussed.

IMHO FB should just concentrate on providing plug ins or means for users to organise their pages the way they want, quit with the bacn notifications. Then again, the web isn't really meant for that sort of level of flexibility...

Very interesting - there's definitely different 'cultures' of web design and functionality in different areas of the world...would be intriguing to hear ur round up comparing ur experience of this kinda thing on Japanese sites vs. Western sites later when u've had experience on this service. FB IS very bacny (sorry if i've contributed! - i've been tweaking meticulously to cut back app notifications). There's so many basic obvious design flaws in FB, i'd wished they'd put more effort into the basics with their Great Leap Forward (as in being much less stalker-ish, getting rid of the excesses of News Feeds telling me whenever a Friend coughs etc., getting rid of the squished layout and micro-fonts by having effectively *5* columns, 2 of which are basically whitespace, SIMPLIFYING...) - lotsa groups are clamouring for these things. Logically a must before focussing on mega-expanding the app register - it's easier to revamp the basic design for better user experience *1ST* rather than expecting squillions of developers to catch-up on later redesigns.
