MPAA: We’re only “testing” Forest Blog

Earlier last month Patrick Robin, the author of Forest Blog discovered that the MPAA was using it and violating the linkware license by removing his name and links back to his site without paying for a license. The MPAA has responded by removing it and claiming that they were “testing” it. Sounds like someone was doing a bit more than testing it if you have to go in, modify the pages/code to rip out Patrick’s name and links to Forest Blog, or have an illegal copy given to you to use. Nice.

As Patrick points out, “… I doubt I’d get away with pirating a few movies providing I didn’t advertise it and only used them for testing purposes.”.
