Kutaragi: More expensive PlayStation 3’s on the way

Apparently not fazed by the fact that there’s more PlayStation 3’s in USA than what people know to do with (especially disappointing PS3 scalpers, who are all returning them now having failed to flog them off on eBay), Ken Kutaragi has promised to bring out a ridiculously expensive version of the PlayStation 3 similar to the PSX (remember those?). Apparently, all those features Sony promised on the base model of the PlayStation 3 will return like dual HDMI and more memory.

Read about it from Engadget here. I’m not really in a hurry to get a PS3 Ken… I think everyone’s playing on the Nintendo Wii instead.

A workmate brought in the Wii the other day so we could have a go at lunchtime. I would have to say that even though the graphics are kinda simple compared to the 360 and I guess the PS3 (though I haven’t seen the PS3 in the flesh) the gameplay is pure addiction. It’s great to just be able to play against other people in an all out action frenzy (we were playing boxing and tennis). Great fun and it’s cheap too (compared to xbox 360 and PS3).

Gameplay seems to be picking up again, that’s what Nintendo specialises in most of all. I haven’t had a chance to play on a Wii yet but sometime soon. Nick claims it’s the new “must have” accessory in life, supplanting water…
